Additional information
Located in Kiambu County, Central Kenya, Sarkin Estate is a specialty coffee farm renowned for its high-quality production. Situated at around
1,700 meters above sea level, it benefits from red volcanic soils and a climate ideal for coffee cultivation.
The annual production is around 12 tons, with the coffee classified as AB grade, featuring beans between 6 and 7 millimeters in size.
The cherries are handpicked and processed using the fully washed method, after pulping, they ferment for 12 to 16 hours and are washed to remove the mucilage, and then dried on raised beds for 7 to 14 days.
Edwin, the second-generation owner, inherited part of the farm from his father and decided to expand it with more coffee trees. The estate also
includes papaya, avocado, and banana trees, which enrich the biodiversity and sustainability of the property.
