Additional information
Thanks to the abundant rain and mountainous landscapes, Guji region offers the perfect home for coffee farms. Although the splendid fruity taste of the coffee can be well distinguished from other production areas, it only recently got the name of a separate coffee region.
The area was closed for mining before. It is located in the western part of the southern peoples province. Since most of the plants have been planted in the last 25 years,
Guji coffee cherries are at the best stage of their life cycle, thus giving the best crop a roaster could dream of.
The average size of the farms in the Bule Hora is around 1.5 to 2 hectares, planted with around 1,500 coffee bushes, very often in the forest.
Thus, most of the region’s coffees are organic by nature. One bush yields between 100 and 200 gr. of green coffee. The region’s Arabica coffee varieties,
collectively referred to as Heirloom coffees, are the overwhelming majority. Cultivation is usually carried out by entire families, with plots of land
passed down from generation to generation. After being wet-processed, coffee berries are dried on special terraces for 12 to 15 days in the sun.
