Founded in 2015, Corazón de Jesús is a family business located in Buena Vista de Rivas, Costa Rica. This venture arose from the vision of the Alvarado Fonseca family, who were looking for a better quality of life and economic stability through the cultivation of high-quality coffee. In 2009 and 2010, the family planted their first coffee plants of the Catuai variety.
Cherry is selectively handpicked and ripe, red cherry is delivered to the Corazon de Jesus micromill. Cherry is laid to dry on raised beds and is raked frequently to ensure even drying. It takes approximately 10 to 20 days for cherry to dry. Once dry, cherry rests for approximately 2 months before being dry milled and prepared for export. Catuai is well known for delicate and complex flavors that are often floral and fruity.
